Wikipedia is run by volunteers. They delete advertising. They delete poorly sourced biographies. They delete companies that only exist in their own press releases. Wikipedia editing and citations on the same brief
Creation starts from a red link or a missing topic. Editing starts from an article that already has a history, talk page, and often watchers. Mixing the two is how COI editors get blocked. If Acme Corp already has a page with a wrong founding date, that is an edit. If Acme Corp has never had a page, that is creation — and notability must be proven from scratch.
